The original John Knapp Studios was established in 1967 in Los Angeles, California in a suburb area callrd The San Gabriel Valley in the City of Azusa.

John Knapp began his career as a photographer while attending a small college in Phoenix, Arizona in the early 1960's.

Then while working in the electrical field as a wireman in Los Angeles he set up a photo lab and began showing his work as a self taught camera artist. 

In 1968 he was inspired to open a store front studio in Azusa, CA.

John expanded his knowelege and experience becoming highly recognized by companies such as Eastman Kodak; Capitol Records; Rain Bird Corporation; World Trade Magazine and became popular among brides; models; singers; actors; and many more.

John Knapp has had studios in three counties over the years and today works out of a small independent "project studio" in Upland, CA.
